Hello everyone,Do you get technical skills development training by your employer? "Technical skills training is a basic component of employee education because it is a primary way for you to develop the skills you need in your role. Do you get technical skills development training by your employer? IT & Tech Careers. The extended backup is only a portion of your entire veeam backup. I think you should be more worried about doing an entire duplication to the wasabi that can be locked rather than worry about what the extended backup portion is doing. I found the explanation I was looking for. And you are thinking about doing a duplication from the first wasabi bucket to the second? Or is the Veeam using the wasabi bucket as expanded storage space? So that the bucket and your synology form "one drive" and this is your entire backup. The Veeam tier offloading, is this basically real time duplication? And that the issue is to enforce Veeams retention policy it would need full access to the wasabi bucket? And you are thinking about doing a manual de-duplication from one wasabi bucket to another so that the second bucket can be locked? Im not too familiar with Veeam, so Im just looking to understand what you have here. The other option is using Synology's built-in cloud sync app which could happen very quickly.Īs I'm also taking backups offsite this is just an added benefit should I be able to do it. What software would be recommended to do this if I wanted to run this from a PC? My second thought was to create another bucket in Wasabi that I could lock and then set up a file transfer/copy job using different software that can transfer files from my SOBR on Synology to that bucket. Locking the bucket prevents this from occurring. But Veeam told me that this cannot be done because the software needs full access to the bucket for the capacity tier offloading so it can remove older copies. I wanted to lock the bucket using Wasabi's compliance features to help protect from ransomware. I'm doing the Veeam SOBR with my Synology and capacity tier offloading to Wasabi and it works really well. I've currently implemented a solution through Veeam utilizing Wasabi. So Wasabi is an s3 compatible cloud storage provider that I'm sure many have heard of by now.
